Wolf Messing Biography

A native of a small Jewish place near Warsaw, at the age of 11 he escaped from domestic poverty, found himself in Berlin, was engaged in various small and dirty work, and then hit the stray circus, then into students to the “reader of thoughts at a distance”, from whom he could learn all the necessary focuses. After the First World War, he toured his native Poland, gained small popularity.

As you know, a certain Austrian artist and his supporters, who at that time led Germany, were not so much loved by Jews, so the invasion of the German army in Poland was very worried about Messing. He, along with other refugees, leaves for the USSR. At first, he begins to tour with his numbers as part of campaign, and then with a personal program as part of a state -minded.

He performed successfully. The Soviet public was like a new product, so it willingly for such performances, which were loudly called “psychological experiments”, went. When the Great Patriotic War began, Messing for a fee from concerts bought and handed over one fighter and handed over to the front. After the war, he continued to engage in the same concert activity, received the title “Honored Artist of the RSFSR” and quietly died in November.

But Messing makes “this same Messing” not his real biography and performances in the genre of mentality before the gullible public, but the legendary autobiography that he himself did not write, but about that later under the title “On itself”, partially published in the years in the journal “Science and Religion” and completely in the year under the name “I am a telepath”.

And on the pages of this book Wolf Messing: in the year he met with Albert Einstein in his apartment in Vienna, where he held a telepathic session with Einstein and Freud; He predicted Hitler’s death, if he turned east, sat in a German prison, fled, and Hitler personally announced a reward in his head; Personally met in the year in Gomel with Stalin and had a conversation in them about the future and geopolitics; At the request of the same Stalin, in order to demonstrate his abilities by hypnotizing the cashier of the State Bank, he gave him an empty sheet and received the same rubles from him; imperceptibly penetrated the office of Lavrenty Beria; and so on.

In a word, not just a circus artist, but an incredible hypnotist and a seer. It was for nothing that I did not talk to Lenin, but Soviet censorship would definitely not miss such sacrilege in the memoirs. Of course, none of these facts found confirmation. Einstein did not have an apartment in Vienna at all, and from the years he did not visit Vienna. In all possible documents of all possible departments of Nazi Germany, the surname Messing is never found.

In the journals of the interwar period of Poland, writing on topics of secret knowledge, parapsychology and occultism of mentions of Wolf Messing. And finally, the procedure for issuing money in the State Bank was not at all what Messing described it. Then where did all this come from? The answer is simple: the memoirs of the Polish Jew, who earned popularity among the audience with simple tricks, could be of interest to few.

This was perfectly understood by the real author of the book “I am a telepath”, a journalist of the publication “Komsomolskaya Pravda” Mikhail Vasilievich Shkastunov. Therefore, an amazing story of meetings with the great persons of the world of everything was invented. And Messing ... Well, he was not against that. In the end, this further adds popularity, and therefore income.

An ordinary person will not go to the archive, but to the concert of the hypnotist and psychic, who personally talked with Einstein and Stalin - how he would go. Was Messing Charlatan? He was an artist, in an interview called himself an atheist and denied everything supernatural. He did not “heal” anyone, did not feed anyone with false hopes, did not take money from gullible people.

But the myth of the “great psychic Messing” absorbed and survived the real messing.
