After graduating from the institute in the city, under the leadership of one of the pioneers of X-ray surgery, academician I. Rab-kina Z. Kavteladze mastered the principles of diagnosis and treatment in endovascular surgery. In the city, in the same period, together with engineer A. Kakeshka, Z. Kavteladze created original devices for the endoprosthetics of blood vessels and hollow organs-remote kawa-films, devices for closing intracerstian defects and temporary stents.

All these inventions were patented in Russia and Europe. The self-expanding stent, called the ZA-Stent, developed by Z. Kavteladze, is registered in many countries of the world and is produced by Cook Europe. Subsequently, on the basis of this stent, a stent-graph was created to prostrate the chest and abdominal aorta. Kwarteladze moved to a multidiscountal private center of endosurgery and lithotripsy Center, heading in Kwvteladze one of the first to fulfill the percuscular access and with the help of a linear stent-graph, and after 2 years it also for the first time carried out nibphurcation endoprosthetics of the abdominal aorta aneurysm.

The achievements in the endoprosthetics of the aortic aneurysm were generalized in a doctoral dissertation, the defense of which took place in the city of scientific and practical interests of Z. Kavteladze is very diverse. These are peripheral and coronary angioplasty, carotid stenting, angioplasty and stenting of coronary, peripheral, carotid, renal vessels, hollow organs, endovascular closure of heart defects, treatment of lowering arteries with diabetic foot syndrome, embolization during pathological formations, endovascular treatment of myoma uterus.

Cavedladze has patents for several new methods of treatment in endo-vascular surgery using original devices such as temporary removable stents, special introducts for anti-naval puncture of the femoral artery and much more. Separately, the scientific and educational activities of the hero of the day should be noted. From the city of Kavteladze, 7 international symposias were held in the Center.
