Gogol lesson biography

Childhood and youth the future writer was born on March 20 on April 1 in the village of Sorochintsy of the Poltava province on the territory of today's Ukraine. The family of Nikolai erected their genealogy to the ancient Cossack family, considering himself the descendants of Ostap Gogol - a military leader of the 17th century, colonel, hetman of the right -bank Ukraine.

Gogol's grandfather was of Yanovsky’s last name, and at birth she also went to Nikolai. When entering the noble estate, the surname was changed to Gogol-Yanovsky, and later the writer simplified it, preserving only the first part. Gogol’s childhood passed there, in the Poltava region - in the family estate of Vasilyevka Mirgorod district. The places where the writer grew up will subsequently be immortalized by him in the famous collections “Evenings on the Farm near Dikanka” and “Mirgorod”.

Nikolai's father Vasily Afanasevich was a passionate fan of the theater: having retired as a college assessor, he arranged a home theater and began to compose plays for him. According to the memoirs of contemporaries, Vasily Gogol-Yanovsky was a brilliant storyteller and had an outstanding literary talent. Apparently, he conveyed his inclinations and hobbies to his son, taught him to own the word.

For example, as a game, the father asked little Nikolai to come up with rhymes to different words. Already at the age of five, the boy recorded his first works. Nikolai Gogol grew in the outback, from childhood he took the amazing flavor of Ukrainian speech, folk legends and traditions - sometimes cheerful and sometimes terrible. All this atmosphere undoubtedly influenced his literary works: fantastic plots, a bright, figurative language became signs of a unique style of the writer.

When Gogol was 10 years old, he left his home. First, in the capital of the province of Poltava, Nikolai took lessons from a private teacher, and after he entered the gymnasium of higher sciences in Nezhin, where he studied from the GG. Gogol was poorly given to Gogol, he was inattentive and often received flogging with rods as punishment for his negligence.

From the shameful deduction of the boy, only a magnificent memory saved, which helped him to prepare for the exams and switch to the next course. Teachers noted that the future classic had a tendency only to drawing and the Russian language. Gogol constantly read, was interested in modern literature and brilliantly knew the work of Pushkin and Zhukovsky. However, the years spent in the gymnasium opened a passion for theatrical art in Gogol.

He organized the theater and attracted his comrades to it. The future writer himself painted the scenery, collected the props, staged performances and went on stage. The amateur production of “undergrowth” Fonvizin, in which the “main director” played Mrs. Prostakov, was a great success. Friends of the youth of Nikolai Gogol seriously believed that he was waiting for an acting career, and also noted his special talent for a comic storyteller.

Gogol was acute in his tongue to bring the listeners to homeric laughter, and even the director of the gymnasium could not stop him. Everything changed in the year when Gogol's father died. The death of his father upset not only the spiritual state of the future writer, but also the material situation of the family. Gogol's mother was a worthless mistress, and his son had to take up business: he made decisions on what to do with the property, and subsequently abandoned his share of the inheritance in order to provide the younger sisters.

The beginning of the creative path in the gymnasium, the young Gogol tried himself in the literary field. He, together with his comrades, published a manuscript magazine, in which he regularly published his poems written in the spirit of the then popular romantic poetry. At the same time, Gogol-gymnasium tried himself in different genres. Dramatic works, and stories, and a historical story came out from under his pen.

In the year, the author completed work on the poem "Hanz Kuchelgarten", imitating the then popular romantic idyll. This work, Gogol, two years later, was even published under the pseudonym V. Alov, but negative reviews forced the impulsive young man to redeem the entire circulation and burn it. St. Petersburg in the year, at the end of the gymnasium, Gogol decided not to return to the Poltava estate, but to move to the capital.

Here he was waiting for brutal disappointment. Dreams of an ambulance and a brilliant career crashed about a harsh reality: there was no money, public recognition too. Nikolai made several attempts to get an actor in the theater, but the game that delighted his gymnasium comrades did not impress the sophisticated metropolitan directors. In the year, Gogol began working as a small official - first with a scribe, then an assistant to the head of the head in one of the St.

Petersburg departments. This service was unbearably boring, and Gogol coped with it badly. Holding on to his posts for only a year and a half, Nikolai quit the lowest to the rank of ranks with the rank of college registrar. However, the impressions of this work were not in vain: the observant Gogol collected a lot of material for his works about bureaucratic life.
