Nemov actor biography

During this time, he managed to release the song and take a clip on it, write his own monospace and begin to conduct personal mentoring through acting. In anticipation of the musical release “Winter”, she talked with Artem about how his creative path, about the power of life coincidences and plans for the future developed. Someone dreams of playing on stage and in a movie from a young age, others come to this already at a more conscious age.

How did your acting path begin? Of course, the desire to find one or another profession almost always comes from childhood. I was extremely lucky that my parents supported any of my undertakings and gave literally to all circles and sections: ballroom dancing, music school, theater studio, sports. Over time, all this somehow organically resulted in my desire to continue to engage in creativity, but already in a particular way.

Although it is worth noting that at the Lyceum I studied in the international economy and intended to go in this direction. But in the end, the artist still turned out. As a result, as soon as I was given a work book at the age of 16, I immediately went to work on the TV on TV - I read the news on the air - I participated in the productions of the Kherson National Theater.

I remember how the director of the lyceum called us with my mother and directly said that we should try to enter Moscow. Immediately after I “went to intelligence” to watch the best theater institutes. And a year later I went to do. Thus began the typical everyday life of the applicant of the theater institute. I remember how I got up every day in the morning, took a guitar with me, two sandwiches and replaceable shoes - because it rains in Moscow all of June!

It sounds like real romance, and in general it is. In fact, then I had to put everything on Kon, because I did not have time to pass the exams for admission in Ukraine, since I had already tried in full swing in Moscow. In addition, a military draft began, so if I had not arrived, the army was waiting for me. By the way, as a foreigner, I received a quota in three institutes in advance.

I tried to act in the top five best acting, and by a happy chance a competition was held precisely to those universities that gave me a quota. As a result, you not only got into one of the best theater universities in the country, but already in the second year you began to participate in the productions of the notorious Gogol Center. How did you manage to get to the theater?

In fact, the arrival in the Gogol Center can be called to some extent a happy chance. I generally believe that life consists of coincidences, and my experience in the center. While studying at VGIK, my agent advised me to go to one of the theater castings. Where I went, I imagined vaguely: as a result, it turned out to be an experimental casting on the immersion show “Returning”.

I knew that you participated in the project, but I could not imagine that it was at least somehow connected with the Gogol Center. Now you will understand the connection laughs. Of the thousands of applicants, 20 people were selected in just three days to produce. I still do not fully understand what principle they chose me, but this experience was one of the most impressive in my life.

After several months of everyday many hours of rehearsals, premiere shows began, which were invited by directors, actors and other famous people.

And if you know, then the meaning of the immersive theater is that the actors directly interact with the audience, whose faces are hidden under the mask, sometimes even entering into one dialogue in space, where there is no one besides them. If the viewer wants to, then he has the right to remove the mask, but this remains entirely at his discretion. So, in one of these premiere performances, I interacted with the viewer, and by the way, he refused to take off the mask.

As it turned out later, it was Kirill Serebrennikov. That is, it turns out that the next happy coincidence in your life opened the door to one of the most famous, until recently, Russian theaters? Call this as you want, but I believe in such coincidences. It was even more likely a chance that had to be used exactly. And you, of course, did not miss him? Almost immediately after the show, I wrote to Facebook Serebrennikov, introduced myself, said that I was the actor in the “returning”.

In fact, it was rather a formality: Cyril immediately invited me to participate in the releases of several performances of the theater named after But here it is important to say that I was an invited artist in the Gogol Center and built a “lonely personal career”, as Serebrennikov once told me. It turns out that you were not busy in the theater all the time? Let's just say that the career throughout my life is far from limited to one Gogol Center.

In general, since I have become a member of the show “returning”, and until today I have been engaged in very different creativity. This happened primarily due to financial necessity-I had to earn a living. As a result, it turned out that for several years I starred in the cinema, worked as a director of the cost-put performances-did commercial projects with different brands and even wrote performances.

All this diverse experience in the future was accumulated into my integrity today. About the struggle for life and the future, it turns out that you got to the theater while still in the third year and served in it until its closure. What was the first reaction in the Gogol Center when you learned that the theater would no longer be? It so happened that in May I left Russia, and immediately in June a theater was closed.

Unfortunately, I do not know any details and heard about it in fact, since I was deeply engaged in the topic of health. You left Russia immediately with the start of events in Ukraine. Is it somehow connected? I have two favorite countries. One raised me, the other has grown! Of course, for me the grief that happens between them, but I left, because I urgently needed treatment, I saved my life.

In addition, in March we signed with my wife, by the way, she is Russian. How can I choose? How did it end in the end? In May, my wife and I went to Italy, where we found a clinic in advance in which they agreed to treat me for free, and this was the best and most effective treatment with my diagnosis. Probably another and possibly the greatest luck in my life. By summer, I moved to the UK to continue my career.

You know, when you lie in the oncological department with other patients and do not understand how successful your treatment will be, the attitude to many things changes: you really understand that there is nothing more important than human life. As a result, all those emotions and experiences that have accumulated during the treatment period, I finally could express through creativity and began to carry true values to the masses.

Thanks to my pain and the path traveled to create something that is beyond even my consciousness. I am grateful to my illness - this is a gift that gave me even greater power and brought me a real one, with a beating nerve that chooses life. Now you are in London, and as far as I know, you are preparing the release of your new song. What is she about?

That's right, I wrote it in Indonesia - I celebrated the New Year there. As a result, it turned out to be 6 minutes long, so the team and I decided to divide it into 6 chapters - they will go out in parts. The reason for writing, of course, served, the events of the last two years, so the song, rather, about life and death, and also about the desire to live. In the chorus, I use three languages - Russian, Ukrainian and English, because each of them is essentially part of me, identifies me as a person.

What are the plans for the near future in London? To grow and develop in a professional sense, since London is one of the centers of cinema and theater. And, of course, the best place to learn the language. Now I plan to put my monoscope, for which I have already gathered a team: an Italian director, a local producer, with whom we began to work together and look for investments for the implementation of the project.

And finally, a small “acting” Quiz. Russian cinema or foreign? I will say this: foreign is a dream, Russian is a reality. Play the theater or in the cinema? Two inseparable things for me. And the last - to play in the cinema or shoot? I would like to play the cinema, but so far it turns out that I just take it - with my own eyes. Top articles.
